USDC to EUR via SEPA Instant: Cash Out to Any Eurozone IBAN
How to convert USDC to euros and receive them by SEPA Instant: IBAN details, Verification of Payee, supported banks, MiCA and DAC8 context, and safety tips.
To turn USDC into euros in a eurozone bank account, you need an off-ramp that sells the USDC and pays euros to your IBAN. With Sacamos, you connect your own wallet, enter an IBAN in your name, see the rate, fees and exact euro amount in a quote, then send USDC on Solana or Base; a licensed partner pays out over SEPA Instant, which typically settles in seconds.
This guide covers how SEPA Instant works, what the EU's Instant Payments Regulation changed, how Verification of Payee affects your transfer, which banks people commonly use, and the regulatory context (MiCA and DAC8) worth knowing about.
SEPA Instant in brief
SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) is the framework for euro transfers across Europe. It has two main credit transfer schemes:
- SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT): the standard transfer, usually settled by the next business day.
- SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst): a real-time transfer that runs 24/7/365, with a scheme target of 10 seconds for the funds to reach the recipient.
For a cash-out, instant matters: once your USDC deposit is confirmed and converted, the euros can arrive in your account within moments rather than the next working day.
The Instant Payments Regulation
The EU Instant Payments Regulation requires payment service providers in the eurozone to be able to receive and send instant euro payments, and to price instant transfers no higher than standard ones. The obligations were phased in, with receiving coming first and sending afterwards. The practical effect is that almost any eurozone current account — from a traditional bank to a neobank — should now be reachable by SEPA Instant.
There are still edge cases: some specialised accounts or providers outside the eurozone may behave differently, and an individual transfer can fall back to standard SEPA if something on the receiving side is unavailable. If your bank shows the incoming payment as a regular SEPA transfer, it may simply take a little longer.
Verification of Payee: the name check
The same regulation introduced Verification of Payee (VoP). Before an instant (or standard) euro transfer is sent, the payer's bank checks whether the beneficiary name matches the name on the IBAN, and reports a match, a close match, or no match.
What this means for you:
- Use your exact legal name. The name on the payout should match the name on your bank account, the same as in your ID used for verification.
- Payouts go to your own account. Sacamos payouts generally must go to an account in your own name, which also keeps VoP checks clean.
- Business accounts: if the IBAN belongs to a company, the account name is the company name, not yours personally, and the payout may be treated differently. Check before using one.
- Joint accounts or name variants (accents, middle names, married names) can return a close match. That usually isn't a problem, but it is another reason to enter the name as it appears on your bank's records.
Your IBAN: what you need
An IBAN identifies a specific account. Eurozone IBANs start with a two-letter country code (for example ES, DE, FR, NL, IE, LT, BE), followed by check digits and the national account number. The length depends on the country.
Where to find it:
- In most banking apps, the IBAN is shown under account details or a "Receive money" / "Account information" section.
- It also appears on bank statements and in the account opening documents.
Tips:
- Copy and paste instead of typing, then compare the first and last few characters.
- Use a euro account. Multi-currency apps can have several accounts; make sure the IBAN you enter is for a EUR balance.
- A non-local IBAN is fine within SEPA. A Lithuanian or Irish IBAN from a neobank works the same way as a domestic one.
Banks people commonly use
Any eurozone IBAN in your name should work. These are popular choices, each with its own page with tips on finding account details:
| Bank / app | Type | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Revolut | Digital bank | USDC to Revolut |
| N26 | Digital bank | USDC to N26 |
| Wise (EUR) | Multi-currency account | USDC to Wise EUR |
| BBVA Spain | Traditional bank | USDC to BBVA Spain |
| Santander Spain | Traditional bank | USDC to Santander Spain |
| ING | Traditional bank | USDC to ING |
Some banks apply their own rules to incoming funds connected to crypto, such as extra questions about the source of funds. This varies by institution and is outside the payout provider's control. Having your invoices or records ready makes those conversations easier.
Step-by-step: USDC to EUR with Sacamos
- Check your USDC network. Sacamos supports USDC on Solana and Base. If your USDC is on another network, it is not supported for this flow.
- Open Sacamos and choose the eurozone as the destination country. You can go straight to start a euro cash-out.
- Connect your wallet — for example Phantom or Solflare for Solana, or MetaMask or the Base app for Base. Sacamos never holds your keys or funds.
- Verify your identity the first time. KYC is performed by the licensed payout partner, as required by law. New users have a lower initial limit while verification is new.
- Enter your IBAN and your name exactly as it appears on the account.
- Review the quote: exchange rate, fees and the exact euro amount you will receive, all shown before you send.
- Send USDC from your wallet to the one-time deposit address shown, on the network shown, and approve the transaction in your wallet.
- Receive euros by SEPA Instant once the deposit is confirmed and converted.

Regulatory context: MiCA and DAC8
MiCA
The EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) sets rules for crypto-asset issuers and service providers across the EU. For stablecoins that reference a single fiat currency (called e-money tokens), the issuer must be authorised as a credit institution or an e-money institution. Circle, the issuer of USDC, is authorised under MiCA as an electronic money institution, which is one reason USDC remains widely usable in Europe. Crypto service providers, in turn, need authorisation as CASPs, with transitional periods that vary by member state.
You don't need to master MiCA to cash out, but it explains why reputable providers ask for identity verification and why the landscape of available services in Europe has been changing.
DAC8
DAC8 extends EU tax-information exchange to crypto assets. From 1 January 2026, crypto-asset service providers must collect information about their users and report relevant transactions to tax authorities. In practice, assume your national tax authority can see crypto-to-fiat conversions made through regulated providers.
Comparing ways to get euros from USDC
| Option | How it works | Things to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Non-custodial off-ramp (Sacamos) | Send USDC from your wallet; partner pays your IBAN by SEPA Instant | Quote upfront; funds stay in your wallet until you send; KYC required |
| Centralised exchange | Deposit USDC, sell for EUR, withdraw to IBAN | Can be cost-effective for large amounts; funds held by the exchange during the process; more steps |
| Wallet sell widget | Sell inside a wallet through a third-party provider | Convenient; availability, payout methods and pricing vary by provider and country |
| P2P marketplace | Sell to another person who pays by bank transfer | Flexible, but carries counterparty and scam risk, and third-party payments can trigger bank questions |
There is no single best choice for everyone. Our broader comparison of ways to cash out USDC without an exchange goes deeper.
Safety tips
- Send a small test amount first if it is your first payout to a new IBAN.
- Double-check the network. Sending USDC on a network other than the one shown on the deposit screen can result in lost funds.
- Never share your seed phrase. No legitimate support team will ask for it.
- Watch for fake support accounts in DMs and comments offering to speed up a transfer.
- Check the IBAN and name before confirming; a VoP mismatch is a reason to pause, not to proceed.
