How to withdraw USDC from MetaMask to a bank account in Colombia
MetaMask is the most widely used self-custodial wallet for Ethereum and EVM networks such as Base, and it now supports Solana accounts too. The key with MetaMask is making sure your USDC is on Base (or Solana) — not Ethereum mainnet — before you send.
Bre-B is Colombia's instant payments system, built by Banco de la República so that any bank or wallet can send money to any other in seconds using a simple key (llave) — your phone number, ID number, email or an @alphanumeric key. Bancolombia, Nequi, Daviplata, Davivienda and other participants let you register keys. To cash out USDC to COP, you give Sacamos your Bre-B key and the partner pays out instantly.

Step by step
- 1
Get a quote
Open Sacamos, choose your country and enter the amount of USDC. The quote shows the exchange rate, fees and the exact Colombian pesos you will receive.
- 2
Verify your identity (first time only)
Our licensed partner verifies your identity once. Payouts go only to accounts in your own name.
- 3
Add your Bre-B key
In your bank or wallet app, look for the Bre-B or "llaves" section to see or register your keys. Register a key to the account where you want to receive.
- 4
MetaMask — 1/5
Open MetaMask and switch the network selector to Base (or open your Solana account if your USDC is on Solana).
- 5
MetaMask — 2/5
Check that USDC appears with a balance on that network. If you only see USDC on Ethereum, it is on the wrong network for this payout.
- 6
MetaMask — 3/5
Tap USDC, then Send, and paste the deposit address from Sacamos.
- 7
MetaMask — 4/5
Enter the exact amount from your quote.
- 8
MetaMask — 5/5
Review the network fee (paid in ETH on Base, or SOL on Solana) and confirm.
- 9
Receive via Bre-B
After the deposit confirms on-chain, the partner converts and pays out. Seconds once the payout is sent.
Where to find your Bre-B key
In your bank or wallet app, look for the Bre-B or "llaves" section to see or register your keys. Register a key to the account where you want to receive.
MetaMask: tips
- Sacamos does not accept USDC on Ethereum mainnet. Sending on the wrong network can mean lost funds.
- MetaMask has its own built-in sell feature through third-party providers in some regions; availability and payout methods vary.
- Use a key tied to an account in your own name — the cédula on the account must match your verification.
- Your phone number is the easiest key, but an @alphanumeric key avoids sharing it.
Safety checklist
- Send a small test amount the first time.
- Check the network twice — sending on the wrong network can lose funds.
- Never share your seed phrase. No real support agent will ask for it.
- Only start cash-outs from the official site or app.
How it compares
Every option below works. They differ in who holds your funds, how many steps it takes and how pricing is shown. This is a qualitative comparison — fees and speeds change, so check each provider's current terms.
| Option | Custody | Steps | Speed | Pricing | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sacamos (non-custodial off-ramp) | You keep USDC in your wallet until you send it to a one-time partner deposit address | Verify once, add bank, get quote, send from wallet | Depends on the local rail; instant rails usually minutes | Rate and fees shown upfront in the quote | Getting paid in USDC and cashing out straight from your own wallet | Supports USDC on Solana and Base only; identity verification required |
| Centralized exchange (deposit, sell, withdraw) | The exchange holds your funds while you trade and withdraw | Deposit, place a sell order, then request a fiat withdrawal | Varies by exchange and withdrawal method | Trading spread/fees plus withdrawal fees; can be cost-effective for large amounts | Active traders who already keep a balance on an exchange | Extra steps, custody risk, and sending to the exchange on a network it supports |
| Bitso | Custodial exchange account | Deposit USDC on a supported network, convert, withdraw to your local account | Often fast on local rails; varies | Conversion spread/fees per Bitso's schedule | Users already verified on Bitso who want a local exchange | Funds sit in a custodial account between steps |
| P2P marketplace (e.g. Binance P2P) | Platform escrow holds the crypto during the trade | Deposit to the platform, pick a buyer, wait for their bank transfer, release | Depends on the counterparty | Set by each buyer; can be competitive | Flexible payment methods and markets with few other options | Counterparty and scam risk (fake receipts, reversed or third-party payments) |
| Sell widgets (MoonPay, Transak) | You send crypto to the provider when you sell | Often built into wallets; verify, sell, receive to bank or card | Varies by country and payout method | Provider fees and spread, shown before confirming | Convenience inside a wallet you already use | Supported countries, tokens and payout rails vary |
Frequently asked questions
What if my USDC in MetaMask is on another network?
Bridge or swap it to USDC on Solana or Base first, using a reputable bridge, then cash out. Never send unsupported networks to the deposit address.
Which networks are supported?
USDC on Solana and USDC on Base. Do not send USDC on other networks, or other tokens. MetaMask can send USDC on Base and Solana — both work with Sacamos.
How long does a Bre-B payout take?
Seconds once the payout is sent. 24/7.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the amount and corridor. The quote shows the exchange rate and all fees before you send, plus a small network fee paid in your wallet. On Base, gas is paid in ETH on Base, so keep a small ETH balance on Base. Base fees are usually far lower than Ethereum mainnet, but they vary.
Do I need a crypto exchange account?
No. You send USDC directly from your own wallet to a partner deposit address. You never deposit into an exchange account.
Can I receive in Nequi?
Yes, if you have a Bre-B key registered to your Nequi account. Keep Nequi's monthly limits in mind for larger amounts.
